Read the date and the scope together
The April 13, 2026 Oracle Lifetime Support Policy lists applicable Fusion Middleware 12.2.x Premier Support through December 2026 and Extended Support through December 2027. These family endpoints do not establish the patch eligibility of every installed release. See the date reference for the current policy context.
The practical distinction
Extended Support can include new updates and fixes for eligible releases, with an additional fee and policy conditions. Sustaining Support provides eligible existing material and technical assistance, with no new fixes or certifications. Its exclusions also affect response commitments. Read the applicable terms before translating either label into an operating promise.
Do not interpret a broad support date as proof that a particular patch will be produced, that a new operating system is certified or that an older patch remains supported. Oracle’s policy points to product-specific error-correction information for that detail.
Questions for the product and contract owners
| Check | What to record |
|---|---|
| Installed release | Product, full version and patch level rather than the label “12c” |
| Applicable policy | Product entry, footnotes and the document’s effective date |
| Error correction | Whether the installed release remains eligible and any required patch baseline |
| Entitlement | The agreement and licenses that apply to this environment |
| Dependencies | Database, JDK, operating system, identity, browser and integration requirements |
| Support operation | Who opens requests, available response terms and escalation responsibilities |
Forms Recognition needs a separate product and runtime check; do not infer its build numbering or Windows requirements from WebCenter Content’s release name.
Separate a possible offer from an agreed entitlement
A proposed additional Oracle support arrangement may be worth investigating. Until written terms are available, record availability, covered releases, excluded defects, security scope, term and cost as unresolved. This page does not establish Market Driven Support availability or pricing for your estate.
The same distinction applies to third-party engineering services. An engineer may investigate an issue, configure a workaround or implement an agreed change. That does not create a right to new Oracle fixes or replace a vendor commitment.
Make the next decision using the actual requirement
Some teams need to preserve a stable workload while a defined change proceeds. Others have a required dependency or security remediation that cannot wait. Neither the support label nor a fixed number of years decides the answer.
Use the deferral operating guide to document review triggers and owners, or the forward-path decision guide to compare an upgrade, hosting move, workload change or continued operation. An Estate Review can establish the missing facts before a delivery scope is chosen.
